Team's departure delayed: Pakistan's cricket tour to India has been pushed back three days after a dispute over the riot-hit city of Ahmedabad delayed the final programme, an official said in Lahore on Sunday.
"Pakistan's team will now depart on February 28 and after playing a three-day side game against Board President XI at Dharamshala, the first Test starts in Mohali from March 8," Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesman Abbas Zaidi told AFP.
Pakistan, touring India for the first time since 1999, will play three Tests and six one-day matches on the tour which ends on April 18.
"We have approved the final itinerary of the tour and hope it would be announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) very soon," Zaidi added.
The two other Tests are scheduled for Calcutta and Bangalore.
Pakistan have agreed to play an additional sixth one-day match in Ahmedabad, where religious riots three years ago left 2,000 mainly Muslim people dead, after a proposed Test there was shifted to Calcutta.
The dispute delayed the announcement of the final schedule for one month after a proposed itinerary was announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in mid January.
